Hi all
I'm a beginner where gardening is concerned and I have inherited a small garden with plants in that I have no idea what they are. I have heard of apps where you can take a photo of the plant/leaf/flower and they can identify it. 
Can anyone on here recommend a good app?

    I think you'd get better results if you took some pictures and posted them on here.  There are some very experienced folks on here and in my experience the plant ID apps aren't as good.

     I don’t  have an app but anything you need identifying can be posted here, someone will know what it is.

    Hi Sharon, and welcome to the forum 🙋.

    I agree that this is the best place for plant ID's.
    Top tip, if you have loads of photos... number them 1,2,3,4 etc... 

    Unearthing treasures in a new garden is always exciting, I hope we can help you find some 😊.

    @sharon.pratt......Hi Sharon I'm another newbie total novice and have to say this is a great place I have only been here just over a week and had loads of brilliant advice.

    They already probably think O-God not her again each time I post :D:D

    Hi Sharon and welcome.  Photos posted on here are a great way to identify plants.   Use the little rectangle with the mountain scenery in it to select files from your PC.  One thing tho, some of us have very very slow, rural, snail's pace internet so downsize the photos or they take all day to load and we give up.

    Also, focus clearly on the flower or leaf in question plus a photo of the whole plant so we can make a clear identification or suggestion of where to start.

    Welcome to the forums.
    We love a challenge here.
    Do post your clear pics ...but may I suggest  doing them in small batches....
    1- 3 plants at a time is more than enough...then start a new thread for next batch

    I'd agree with S.Surfer , Sharon. It's best if you don't post too many different plants all at one go.
    If you can get a wider view as well as close ups, that also helps as it's easier to see the general habit of the plants - shrubs, in particular.   
    As Obelixx says - if you can keep the pix below 1MB or so - they'll load up better.

    You'll find the forum very useful for all sorts of help too - not just IDing, so don't be afraid of asking :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
