Can I plant container shrubs and perennials now?

I' ve bought the following in pots, and ideally would like to plant them in the ground now.  I thought I could do this any time of year, but a friend has urged caution. They are, Cotinus 'Lilla', leucothoe zeblid, lawsonnia ellwoodii (dwarf), nepeta, and saxifrage. All are a decent size.

  • All very hardy plants and as long as the ground is not waterlogged or frozen then plant them out
  • Thank you greenfingers steve, I'd assumed they'd be ok, but then lost my confidence, realising I've not planted anything much at this time of year.  I'm normally continually playing 'catch up' in the garden, and for once am not!  Will put them in tomorrow!
