Acer Shaina dieback

    My acer Katsura is at about the same stage - but it's in the ground and about 8ft tall.
    Looks fine atm, but as the leaves develop several branches start to die back and then it sends out new shoots from all over the place.

    I don't know, but I was advised by a member on this forum that mine has Verticillium wilt.
    Some RHS info here may help you diagnose
