Anniversary tree.

For our Wedding anniversary we would like to plant a tree. The garden is long and narrow,we dont want to ruin our views of the mountains,so not too tall,also it needs to be evergreen to hide the shed a bit!!  Would a type of Eucalyptus be any good,and can you keep them to a certain height?  Thank you in anticipation😊😊

    Congratulations on your anniversary!  To be honest, l think a eucalyptus would be a bit of a pain to keep to a reasonable size.  What about a Portuguese Laurel ?

    Are you sure you want evergreen? There is a beautiful flowering, ornamental cherry tree called  'The Bride'

    I don't want to have loads of leaves to pick up,also I don't want leafy bits in my wildlife pond.The garden is quite limited,and we were hoping it would eventually shut the shed from view. So we thought short bushy tree,maybe with berries for the birds,like Cotoneaster.@Annied,i've looked at the Portuguese laurel,deffo a contender!

    Most evergreens do drop leaves, just not all at the same time.
    How about one of the smaller magnolias?
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    An evergreen pittosporum might fit the brief. Some have lovely creamy variegation. Mine is now about 10 ft, but easy to keep pruned if necessary. Has tiny little black flowers in April/May with a very strong spicy perfume. Interesting bark was well, especially when wet.

    I 'll have a look at that one @Lizzie27, I had a Pittosporumin shrub form once,and if I remember rightly it was very easy to look after. Thank you for that one!
