David Austin Roses - Spring Orders?

I seem to remember that David Austin Roses often do a Spring discount code - perhaps even with the release of the new year's catalogue? I want to buy some roses fairly soon; but does anyone know when it normally comes out? There's no point buying stuff sooner if there's a discount just around the corner!

I'm a little surprised they don't have a tie-in discount code like lots of other suppliers - but that's a separate conversation!

    Usually in March towards the end of the bare root season, but with the mild weather I was hoping they might bring things forward...  all my roses are leafing out and unless I get a cold snap in March, like we often do, then I might have blooms in April the way things are going..

    I'm holding off for now...

  • Thanks! It's a bit frustrating - with the mild weather, I'm keen to get planting, and would happily put in bare root roses. But I know that I want 10-15 roses, and I'll kick myself if I order them, and then the Spring Offers start coming out with their discounts!
  • I ordered March 22nd last year - 15% off bare root roses. (The discount could have started earlier than that though).

  • I ordered March 22nd last year - 15% off bare root roses. (The discount could have started earlier than that though).

    Thanks - that's really helpful, and an excellent idea! I should look back through my order history - I fear that I didn't have the beds in place to actually order many roses until much later in Summer...

    Looking forward to a great year of them kicking on!

    Yes, happy roses this year to everyone that grows them...

    I've asked David Austin roses on Facebook just when their new releases will be available to order...  I get very edgy this time of year and can't wait …  I do hope they reply soon...

    @djpreece100 - any reason you don't buy the roses from http://www.rozenlottum.nl/ ?
    Their DA roses are about one third of the DA price!  I ordered a dozen bare roots at the start of January and they costed about €8 each. They seem to be Grade 1 roses.

  • I think partially just that I know & trust the DA supply, because I've ordered from there before, whereas the Dutch option is an unknown!

    More practically, I have a DA gift voucher at the moment that needs to be spent, so that's driving at least part of the decision!

    Last autumn my mother in law moved to a flat so we dug up a dozen DA roses that had been in her garden over 30 years and transplanted them to my daughters garden. I wasn’t sure how many would survive but they all are showing signs of new growth so I would say you definitely get your money’s worth!
