Water shedding pole thing for garden furniture cover to stop pooling

hi there

does anyone have any thrifty ideas for a water shedding pole type thing to put under garden furniture cover to stop pooling?  Have tried a few things but they wont stay up!

    Haven't a clue what a water shedding pole is ???
    Do you want to raise the centre of the cover, so the water runs off?
    Is it a table and chairs? How about an upturned bucket in the centre of the table?

    A bucket of cement with a broom handle set to right height?

    I was going even more cheapskate by using a cane, possibly with an inverted pot over the end to spread the pressure a bit.
