Thanks again everyone, I have left it out of a pot over night laying horizontal on some news paper to help draw out remaining water. My plan was to mix cactus soil and the basic pro mix it was in ( or should I use fresh soil, left some clay stones in the remaining soil to dry it out) 50/50, and also add clay stones to the mix to help airation. I will have to try and find a smaller pot and be sure to plant it higher.
The good news in this all is that over the last week there has been some new growth, just a huge hit on the original foilage.
Have a Yucca that has similar symptoms to smaegoodwin. Root rot also my concern, have removed from the pot there appears to be some areas with small, white, mould like spots. Is anyone able to identify from the pictures whether that is the issue?
Definitely planted too deep. They are very tough though, so it should bounce back now you’ve rectified what Dove said was the problem. Mine is in an unheated garden room since September, due to building works (another Ikea orphan) but it is bright in there and I didn’t water it once. Despite that, it seems fine.
Hi @markgreenwayqWpAVGSi it doesn't look like mould, it looks to me like perlite that has disintegrated, which tends to happen after a while it has been in a potting mix. Not seeing the whole plant, I'd say bump it a pot size to add some new medium to the plant.
