Good news about your gas @Liriodendron. Hope you don't have too much redecorating to do or ugly pipes to box in.

I will pass the info on @hogweed - many thanks :) . He thinks he may have found a supplier online, so fingers crossed.
  • No redecoration required until we decide to paint the inside of the boiler cupboard... that's not high priority, to be honest!  All the pipework is outside, and we have more room in the kitchen cupboard which used to house the meter.  Plus - the meter had developed an irritating squeak, but since it's now housed in a box outside the back door, we can no longer hear it.   :)

Obelixx, I'm hoping the duvet cover can be salvaged using Swarfega or similar.  But I'll be telling Northern Gas about it and sending them the photo...

    Shout works great on grease.
I must be a sloven, but I wouldn't dream of painting the inside of a boiler cupboard -ever.

I have.  New shower room.  Walls to be painted before plumbing fixtures, tiles, hot water tank etc installed so yes, I painted the boiler cupboard walls.   Probably will never do it again tho.

  • I rather suspect we'll move house before painting the cupboard...   ;)

Islander I am not an expert but often find in my job patients needing more and stronger prescriptions for pain relief as time goes on. Many drugs have unpleasant side effects for the stomach or bowels and I think it’s a pity alternative therapies are not more readily available for people who would like to try them. There is also the additional risk of addiction to consider. I feel very sorry for anyone suffering long term pain or indeed pain of any sort just think options other than boxes of pills should be offered if appropriate

Weather is perfect for gardening but my hip is getting worse!  My up and down mobility is becoming severely restricted although thankfully I can still walk OK as long as I keep the paracetomol topped up.  Add the operations on both knees and you may imagine it's not easy to get things done.  Infuriating.
