    That’s how it seems nowadays Raisingirl,  people don’t like anyone doing anything for them anymore.  Always need to pay back in some way.    Most people love to do something for nothing. 
    I get more pleasure giving than receiving.  Probably because of my upbringing.

    Brother turned up and he said he offered to bring a sleeping bag so I did not need to wash the sheets

    Well I had washed them before he turned up and after

    "All the worlds a little strange except me and thee and even thee is a little odd" !! :#

    Too true NewBoy 😀. I think that may be an old Deb’n saying, certainly heard it in the wilds down here.

  • Pa used to say it too and he was from Cambridgeshire-ish ... but as he’d been all over the place in WW2 he could’ve heard it almost anywhere ...

    A chap who used to live near me in Brizzle that i was emailing re fruit trees said his Mum used to say if something was lost in the house that it was probably " Up stairs in Grannys room behind the wallpaper !! "

    I have never been asked this, either, we have a spare room, bed is always made up, clean and fresh, grandkids will be coming soon (half term) I used to stay at my daughters after a night shif, because it was only 10 miles away to crash, rather than a 47 mile drive home,I used to take a duvet and pillows and have grandsons bottom bunk, but then I "shared" with my grandaughter so didnt bother.  Weve also got plenty of spare duvets, and pillows.
