Help with identifying

Hi all! 
Newbie here. 

I’ve moved into a house with a huge garden, which I’m planning on transforming in memory of my dad, who was a keen gardener. 

I’ve just been away for a weekend and there was a lovely plant in the cottage garden. Can anyone help to identify it? Normally I’d have asked my dad but he’s no longer here!

    Really? Oh that’s even more poignant then! 

    I’m a keen amateur so will hopefully be learning lots from this forum.

    Often - as will be the case with this lovely rosemary - one sniff at the foliage will give you a hint, even with non-herbs.  Any questions you have, there are loads of lovely people on this site who will be able to help with any questions you have; of course, they'll never replace your dad, but they'll still be there for you!  Good luck.
