Christmas tree broken top branch

Last September when moving a christmas tree i somehow broke the top leading shoot or stem , I didnt snap it completely off the branch split at an angle so wrapped tape around to hold and hope it might grow together and heal itself , but today i undid the tape and although it has patially stuck back together its still very delicate so Ive wrapped it up again so my question is , will it eventually heal itself ?
