the secret garden club

Does anyone know the name if this plant/flower?

It is orange and it has little lanterns. And inside the lanterns are little seeds about as big as a pea.

It grows in northern England and I encountered it on a south facing slope of an allotment.

If you know it please tell me what it is, it is very beautiful.

yours sincerely

Chris

Sorry @raltechris2000 , l can't see a photo, but going by your description,  l am guessing physalis aka Chinese Lantern.

@raltechris2000,..i am sure that @AnniD is correct,..below images of mine for last year.

Very invasive plant and so i keep mine in a container,..i agree with you the Lanterns are a striking colour,..below when dried out and still retaining the same colour in 2019.

On the right is the Chinese Lantern,..on the left is the Chilean Lantern.

Pleased to say that my plants arrived late afternoon after all. They look very healthy, the cowslip has even got flowers on. Watered two of them and put them in the porch for now.

I think you're right AnniD, it doesn't take much to confuse me!  I've reposted. Why two threads with the same name though?
