half plant issues

Hi all, I have a Dracaena indoor plant received as a gift 12 months ago. It has been going strong. Suddenly within the last 48 hours, one whole trunk has dropped all its leaves.
The smaller trunk ( same pot) is going well. it happened after I watered it, but I would assume over water would kill both trunks, not just one.

What would kill one plant so quickly but not the identical plant in the same pot?

Cold air from the window pane ... it has been very cold at night over the past few days.
The one that's drooping looks closer to the window and probably protects the other one?

It may not be dead ... you may well get new leaves in the spring.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
