Looks like haworthia limifolia also charmingly known as the fairy's washboard. Care is pretty simple, much the same as any cactus or succulent and they benefit from a dry period over the winter. The only difference between haworthia and other succulents is that they don't like a lot of direct sun and can tolerate more shade than you'd expect. They look great when they make a nice clump so I'd repot into a wide shallow dish to allow it to spread. Don't go too big to quickly though as succulents don't like to be given too much room in the pot, better too small than too big.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
