Amazing Aloe ID?

NollieNollie Posts: 7,529
Saw this huge, bushy Aloe-type plant today in a restaurant garden. I think its a type of Aloe, with large, vivid orange red hot poker type flowers. Can anyone id it?

I just asked Cortana and it would appear to be Aloe arborescens…  see what you think..

That looks very similar @Marlorena, I think you’ve got it! The leaves on ‘mine’ look skinnier but we have hardly had any rain in two months so its probably a bit parched. I didn’t know that Aloes and Kniphofia are from the same family, so that explains its red hot poker flowers, I guess. Incredible colour at over 400m altitude. In January!

Very striking, and foliage like an octopus... you're lucky to have that...
