Planting bulbs "in the green"

I saw at Aldi yesterday that they were selling 4 packs of Spring bulbs but they had no planting instructions on them.
Do you plant bulbs that are already shooting up at the same depth you would if they were bulbs planted in Autumn?

It's only because the bulbs don't have a normal medium to grow in, and they're usually warmer than they should be, that they start to sprout.
Plant at two to three times the depth of the size of bulb, just as you would with a bulb that isn't sprouting
