rose cuttings

I've taken some cuttings of my mum's 'The pilgrim' and 'Shropshire lad' climbing roses in the autumn, it looks like some of the cuttings are taking, I was just wondering how long it takes for a cutting to flower, i'm assuming not this year, but i'm hoping next year?

I think you may see flowers this year, especially as they are repeat bloomers... I would be surprised if they didn't provide a flower or two.. however, it is good practice to remove any buds that form because with own root roses what you want is root development and to push growth...  allowing them to flower restricts those actions in the first season after rooting...  but it's difficult to remove flowers, I know...
