Evening all! I’m converting part of the garden to no dig veg beds this week. I will have about 21sq meters to play with. I’ve only grown in a small bed before and that was badly planned in terms of autumn and winter! I would like a book that gives me great info on timings/planning, what to sow when in order to maximise the space. I’m looking at

but cant choose! (The winter one I may well get anyway).
Any others that you would recommend? I just want an easy to understand sowing/planting guide!
thank you oh wise ones!

The Garden Expert series of books have been around forever and always well regarded.
I don't know the books you refer to above, so can't comment

    Good luck

I prefer the Garden Expert as well. Old tried and well tested methods, I’ve just lent mine to my son who wants to do a bit of growing.

  • If you want to pursue no dig then Charles Dowding seems to have become the go to guru. I was lent two of his books in the past and I have read his newest book No dig organic Home & Garden (Grow, cook, use & store your harvest). I would say if it's the basics of no dig you want then any of his books will do as from what I have seen he puts  the principles & methods in all of them to a greater or lesser extent.

Thanks guys! Yes I’ve been watching the videos, will have a look at the expert series too. Busy trying to construct the beds on ground that slopes in every direction lol! To level or not to level that is the question lol!
