  • Thanks madpenguin.  I thought it would be easier to divide the whole area into 3 parts, which has worked out very well so far.  I have posted when to sow the seed on another thread.

    Little Viola has self seeded from somewhere and is now flowering in the lawn and an Erodium Moschatum or Musk Storksbill:-

    I have the trampling of small children to act as a stand in for grazers...

    Today I gave the lawn its first cut of the year.Mower on highest cut and a bit of hand cutting as well.Have left areas where bulbs are still dying back and Anemone blanda and Fritillary are still blooming and hopefully some English bluebells will flower.Will see how things go and maybe do a medium cut in a month or so.
    The grass was starting to look untidy where cats and pigeons have been walking.Still looks a bit messy but should look better in a day or so (I hope!!).
    So here are the photos before and after the cut.
