Have you ever NOT deep cleaned your greenhouse, & what was the result, particularly if you grow veg?

  • I have never deep cleaned my greenhouse/conservatory.  We have a table & chairs to eat meals in one half and I grow seedlings, tomatoes etc. in the other half.  We only sweep the floor and once a year we hose wash it (paving slabs on floor). Apart from that we use a dustpan and brush to sweep up dropped potting compost.  We never use chemicals in it - sometimes we spray the plants with either water or if aphids appear we use diluted washing up liquid.

I clean two GH's, firstly after the last crop has been harvested, so that means the glass and a good clean inside about October time, and then again about Feb/Mar time.

This year/2018/2019 I've grown chard, spring greens and lettuce Leaves in one GH, so that one is looking like not getting a clean apart from the glass.

Me thinks, how necessary is a deep clean if you did not have a big issue with pests the previous year, you could be killing the good guys.
