What is this plant?

Hey all,

First time posting.

I bought this plant the other day but I can't figure out what it is. I am hoping someone can help tell me what it is and how best to look after it.

    I think it's a Quill Bromeliad.
    I don't know much about them....

    But found this article

    I can see it. It’s a type of bromeliad ... think it’s Vriesea splendens. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Ah yes Pete.8 its a Quill Bromeliad or a Pink Quill for short.
