Identifying lilac

We are clearing an old hedge and know somewhere there is a lilac but so much growth of other shrubs difficult to identify the lilac as branches still bare. Any hits, I have no idea what the branches would look like.

I just braved a muddy lawn to take a couple of pics of my lilac - hope they help

doesn't look like lilac to me, stems are the wrong colour and buds look the wrong shape to me.
what it is however i have no idea, you might have to wait for leaves to show
