How to save Mother in Law tongue

Hello

Any advice how I can save this plant? I just took them out of the pot as they were very unsteady, when I moved them I noticed they came out very easily and the roots were completely gone? The soil was bone dry as I hadn't watered them for +6 weeks.

Would it be a good idea to soak in rooting hormone?

Bone dry soil is rarely a problem with sansevieria ... mine regularly go for longer than that without water. I’d repot them in fresh houseplant compost and keep the compost moist but not wet and place them on a light windowsill in a moderate temperature ... my bet is that they’ll grow new roots and settle well.

I wonder if they've been overwatered at some point in the past, and the roots have rotted? The bits of compost left on them look wet to me.   As @Dovefromabove said, it's virtually impossible to under-water sanseveria.  They just gradually shrivel a bit as they use up the water that's stored in the fleshy leaves, and yours don't look as if that has happened.  They are tough as old boots as long as they don't get too wet or too cold.
