    I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
    Devon.
  • I'll check tomorrow a little more closely and maybe take a photo of what I see? If it is, the whole row will have to go... I couldn't possibly plant saplings for at least 6 months so it's recommended, but unfortunately the neighbours have dogs and does pet grooming in her shed so has regular pets coming and going... 😳 I so wouldn't want a fence either!!
  • A wee update, someone has suggested to me privet thrips, and hope to remedy once spring arrives... I can only give it a go!!
  • Hi, we have some privet planted 6 months ago which has similar problems. But we also have box hedge which has box caterpillar pest which looks the same as your photos. This pest has killed off sections of the hedge. But apparently it only likes box hedge. It can be controlled but is a problem that has to be treated every year. We planted the privet because of this and we now have different problem!! Could your hedge be box?
