Peony bare root tubers Planting

Hey guys before Christmas i brought 3 x  Bowl of Beauty peony large bare root tubers from the internet, they have arrived this morning. They came boxed in straw. i've never planted peony's before,  would i have to store the tubers now the cold weather is here.

    You can plant them as long as the ground is favourable - ie, not frozen or waterlogged. As peonies wouldn't appreciate waterlogged ground anyway, it's the frozen stuff you want to avoid.
    The important thing is not to bury them too deep. They have little reddish 'buds' at the crown  which are their growing points, and if you can keep those a bit proud, or certainly near the surface of the soil, that will ensure they grow and flower well. If too deep, they're vulnerable to rotting.
    It's probably worth putting them in pots just now though. They're hardy plants, but just tuck them somewhere sheltered for the winter, and plant out in spring.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
