Love the hydrangea @Liriodendron . Might have a go at growing those rudbeckia @pitter-patter I can't seem to get them to overwinter here so expensive if you buy the plants but would be OK from seed.
@Perki - I understand that it likes very damp ground and the edge of ponds. Is your land fairly damp? I have been holding off planting it because I don't have wet ground.
@pitter-patter - stunning rudbekia. I have been plotting those too for ages. The petals looked more dropped in pics I've seen and the colour lighter. Yours looks much better. You have encouraged me. Maybe next year. Great photos and dahlias.
It does like moister retentive soil . Its not in boggy / wet conditions we just have high rainfall here , it were much smaller last year in the long dry summer.
Its worth a go at growing just for the butterfly's they adore it , it been covered all week in butterfly's and bees. Had a comma butterfly on it this week which aren't often seen round here.
Beautiful plants and flowers @AnniD. It is good to see some summer flowers hanging on in your garden. I love the strength and robustness of your clematis - some of ours are just about hanging on, but looking so sorry for themselves now.
My Daylily Summer Dragon has recently produced three scapes, and has now started to flower. It is supposed to flower mid-season, ie July, but it didn't, so now it will be in flower into October.
