During a brief lull in the rain I went out to see what’s newly flowering, what’s fallen over and what has been eaten by snails. There was not much to report.
Lovely pictures Picidae, the so natural pond particularly interested me, is the Penstemon and new plant - I took cuttings at the same time as others on this Forum, over the Autumn/Winter, and although they rooted and were planted out in the Spring, they all look pathetic, none have flowers as yet. I did pinch them out too.
A couple of views of our pond, which I am so pleased to have. I love watching the birds bathing in the stream in the early evening once the neighbours CAT has gone in for the night. The hedgehogs come later too.We have all the usual pond users, dragonflies, damselflies, newts, snails, water boatmen and pond skatersThis is Phlomis Russeliana or Turkish Sage which looks lovely on a bright sunny day, the bees seem to like it too.
Impressive ponds . And that's a really healthy looking Phlomis, @Guernsey Donkey2. On my list for the front garden, if I ever get round to sorting it out.

I can't have too much of foxgloves Picidae - they bring back such happy childhood memories of my families garden. We have them here, but nothing like as good as your clumps. I have planted more this last Spring and perhaps in a year or two they will have clumped up in decent groups. These two pictures are of the view from our bedroom window on the ground floor. I love watching the birds feeding early in the morning as I get dressed. This patio is completely walled in so there are no visiting cats, although we do have the odd mouse making it's home in the tiny cracks in the wall. The two large potted plants are Acers, and now that the clematis has been moved I have a temporary pot of sunflowers and annual climbers in the centre of the trellis. Not in our garden, close by. There are over 1,000 orchids in this stretch of common land, they look magical don't they.

not outside at the moment as the young doves are sat on the lawn being fed. Did the same last year just sat there and because I went out to do gardening they stopped feeding them
