The winds have eased and the rain has stopped, for now, so OH and I are out clearing away plants and garden machinery from the barns which lost their hats in the tornado around midnight on Friday/Saturday.

After: The upside is that I may well get my new trees and shrubs bed planted a lot earlier than planned. Seems pointless to move them form one "sheltered" spot to another when they could just go straight in.
The other upside is that I can just plant and then cover with cardboard and mulch and not wait for OH to get out his rotavator. Much better for the soil and its wildlife and they'll be watered in for free.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

We have sunny intervals today but the wind is still very strong and cold, not enticing me outside at all. OH is doing some clearing and weeding as the soil is more manageable now after the rain. Haute-Garonne.
Drove from Swindon to Lincoln this morning ( flood plain at Lechlade in the Cotswolds looked pretty bad ) in reasonable weather , however , just started raining again in Lincoln
