  It is a conifer...of which there are several sp and many named hydrids.
  

  Need to see good close up pics...maybe  Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Boulevard'

  Ah ok ... it looked a little more delicate and bobbly than the leylandii cypress that I always think of when thinking of conifers ...

  I was going to be cheeky James, and say 'it's a big bushy evergreen' 
  I'd agree with Silver Surfer - it looks like the Chamaecyparis. Boulevard is quite distinctive with bluey foliage edged in cream.
  A close up will definitely help though. 
  
  Cryptomerias are a bit more jaggy, and Christmas tree-like, if you know what I mean.   

  It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
