Got the battery. Now the car won't start. Along with the iron, that's the three. I hope
I have to ask - how do you know, on Christmas morning, that your iron won't start?

Because B3 needs it to iron the sprouts?.....

I’m glad you said that B3 because I didn’t  know what Iron was, I seem to remember one lurking in the back of a cupboard somewhere years ago, do they plug into the ceiling light?

Only if you have a brown fabric covered  twisty cable with greasy fur balls on it.
Of course I would have preferred one of these

w.edges - are you getting any sleep?
Has Santa been for the little 'un....you may as well stay up  ;)
I'm thankfully nocturnal by nature while my wife is an early riser so it works out well. Not saying 8 solid hours sleep woudn't be welcome though before I go back to work tomorrow.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Hope you salvaged something from the day, w.edges.  :)
From memory, I think those things you mention [irons or something?] might run on batteries Lyn....

I felt very curmudgeonly yesterday en route to the cemetery at the amount of folk driving with no lights on. It wasn't as foggy as it had been the previous two days, and not freezing fog, but still foggy enough to warrant headlights. They're morons.
    Merry Christmas  ;)

I think I've heard Hubby talk about these mythical beasts, or irons, as I've heard them called.
Don't start me on drivers and headlights. What about those who realise it's foggy, or raining, but think that "sidelights" are enough??????

Especially when you consider that most cars' sidelights don't show at the back of the car, if you know what I mean. No red rear light. Silver cars in particular, can be hard to spot until you get nearer. I think they reckon that, because they can see a reasonable distance well enough, that's ok. They don't seem to have worked out that it's also about others seeing them:#

The old line about " see, and be seen " seems to be lost on them.

Wearing light-coloured clothes at night helps pedestrians to be seen too. Sometimes you can only tell there's a person there if you see the light between their legs. (stop sniggering at the back!)
