Christmas tree brown needles

I've had this Christmas tree for 4 years... in a pot outdoors. Each year it has had new green needles. This year however this happened... I think probably as it's been a very hot summer here in London and it probably didn't get enough water. Is there any way I can revive it? Feeling very sad...

    Can’t do anything with that, its dead, late, passed on etc.  Like the proverbial parrot.

    I suspect Pansyface is right but if you are desperate to try, scrape some bark off one of the lower branches in a place that does not show too much. If it is brown all the way then it's dead if however there is green then there may be life.  You could try dousing it in a dilute seaweed tonic, spray all over branches & then put in a bucket or tray of the same for the roots to soak up. To be honest though in the state it looks it's not worth the effort.

    I suppose you could decorate it as usual and claim that it's a new concept tree. However, like the parrot, I'm afraid it has "ceased to be".

    It won’t matter what you feed or spray on that tree, it ain’t never going to come back green again😀

    It will if it's green paint you spray it with, Lyn  :D

    @Fairygirl and  @Lyn My neighbours have done this with a Half standard Box ball, it looks horrible. Even worse they seemed to buy it like that! I saw it in a sack propped up by their side gate & thought at the time "that plant looks dead". A week later it was in a pot sprayed green with pink/ red blotches on it. I suppose they wont have any trouble with box blight that way  :D

    I suppose it's no worse than those god-awful plastic ones some folk hang up by their doors.
    What is wrong with people? 

    Maybe that belongs on the curmudgeon thread  ;)

    Apologies @tashlovell - we've gone off at a tangent. Treat yourself to a new one, and if there's a lot of dry, hot weather, keep it somewhere in teh shade and sit it in a tray of water to keep it hydrated.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
