I've put mine in envelopes too,in a kitchen cupboard. Mainly seeds to scatter,Corncockle,Aguilegia. But I also saved a few French Marigolds,i don't really like them, but they provided a long flowering bright spot where needed! My OH bought a Gazania,I'm not a fan,but I've tried to overwinter the plant in the porch, its leaves have gone black, although covered with fleece! Ive saved some of its seeds, and hopefully will get at least another plant in the spring. Do you plant the seeds in the same way as Marigolds? Are they best done individually? Does anyone have any advice on planting? I looked on you tube, but pretty useless info.
I was too enthusiastic last year, and will restrain myself from even looking at the seeds in Jan and Feb.😮

I have copied this from net, this is what I do, but I sow them 3 week in March. I’ve never used a propagator, kitchen temps are fine.
Sow indoors, February-April. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow, 0.5cm (¼") deep, in trays of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 12-21 days. Transplant them, 5cm (2") apart, to other trays when large enough to handle (always hold by a leaf, never by the stem). Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out, May-June, 20cm (8") apart, into well-drained soil, when frosts are over. Flowers: June-October.

I keep a couple of those silica gel sachets (that you get in packaging with things like handbags) and put them in with the seed packets. They keep the moisture levels down.
Ok I know that I'm going off topic here but I didn't want to inconvenience you all by making yet another seperate post
Some of the seeds I have are Delphiniums , which I have read have a bit of a reputation. These are Elatum Pacific Giants . I'll give them a go of course but I would really like to know if they need any special treatment for next year , or do they self seed reliably ? I'll look up what they like
I find delphiniums respond well to being sown in a cold GH in winter. They are in the Ranunculaceae family, many of that family like a chill to germinate
I sowed those delphiniums originally from Nutcutlet, (via Dove ) 😀a little while ago, just pricked them out and in the cold GH. (These don’t get slug eaten) The ones I sowed this Spring will be planted out in April. You do have to watch for slugs, as soon as they start to shoot, the slugs will eat them down to the ground.

I will follow your instructions Lyn,I suppose it's more or less like Marigolds? I wonder if they will keep the amazing stripes? Next time they will have to go further down the garden and stay in the sun more, blinking fussy things!!!
Thank you for that tip AnniD .Ive saved a few of those sachets thinking they could be useful......but never thought of that.
