Naughty naughty Jason.  You aren't even half way up the UK!   Barely out of the English midlands.

    Have a look at this - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/grow-your-own/fruit/peaches

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

  • Hi Jason, if you want to grow in the ground rather than pot then I highly recommend 'Avalon pride'.  This variety is resistant to peach leaf curl, a problem for peaches grown outdoors in the UK, especially anywhere paricularly wet in the spring.  Here's a photo of mine from summer, growing in the front (south-facing) garden:

The fruit is the same size as you would buy from a shop.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • I had no idea we can grow peaches outside in this country.

  • You do need a good sunny but sheltered spot, Laura.  In this case the garden is in the corner plot of a cul-de-sac, south-facing and a real sun trap.

  • That's a nice looking tree Bob plenty of fruit.
