Succulent Plant Identification

Hi all. I've been given a plant and I'm trying to identify it. I was told it was an Aloe Vera but from the aloe I have seen online the leaves look alot flatter and wider on this one. I've wondered if it is an Agave Salmiana from what I've seen online but it looks very sparse compared to plants I've seen online. Any ideas??

Its winter, so it's indoors at the moment. I've also let it dry out as it was very wet. Also there obviously isn't alot of sun hence the droopy leaves. Any care tips when it gets identified would be great  Thanks all for any help.

Hi Joe have a look at Aloe ferox. There are many Aloes and Agave.
It was probably a good move you letting it dry out, as sometimes over watering can make the leaves droop, due to roots rotting.

  • Hi, I'd also look at Agave americana.

  • Thanks for the posts so far. blackstart, the Americana looks VERY similar to what i have. Its got the same "pattern" on the leaves as well. This could possibly be what i have. The Agave is not something i'm familiar with, very noob to plants of any type on account of living in a flat for 27 years :p. Rubytoo, yes i read about root rot and so made sure to bring it indoors and let it dry out. Knowing what it could now be, after a lot of time just searching for different Aloes!, i can start to find the best way to keep it going. Thanks

    Agave americana (definitely) .
    Grow well outside April/October in full-sunshine .
