Id and advice please?

Hi Can anyone tell me what bush this is please and how harsh I can be with pruning?

    It looks like an Olearia shrub. Could be Haastii. If it's over 2 meters in height, likely to be Traversii.

    If you need to prune them down, you can do that in spring next year. Many are used as a hedging shrub, so pruning back is not a problem. Harsh pruning will take a bit of time for them to recover. Apart from that, they will bounce back, but you may lose flowering for one year.

    It's likely to be Olearia x Haastii. Popular shrubs for windswept conditions. Either way, on a mature shrub like that, pruning back is fine.
