I bought this peony in flower in late Spring.........it's now floweing in the garden. What do I do?.........dead-head the flowers when finished? Prune it when it's finished flowering? I've never grown one before and was not expecting it to flower now.
I think the reason it is flowering now is because it is a camelia rather than a peony! The good news is it looks very happy and needs little special care. If you feel you need to prune it, do so in spring after flowering has finished.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
@Papi Jo it very well could be as I have been meaning to buy both.......I lost the name card.......so you're probaby right. I'm not familiar with either one.
Lovely to have it flowering so early! Enjoy, and just deadhead the spent flowers. They don't need pruned, unless they get too big for the space they're in. In spring after flowering's finished, as Bob says
