Can anyone tell me what this plant is and is it a weed.

    They are lovely things, and rather exotic, if large. The flowers and seedheads are great, too. I leave mine to die down over winter and don't cut back the old leaves until new shoots start to appear.

    WHAT?????.... a weed ???. :o ..Probably one of the best foliage plants around , even if it doesn't flower for you .
    Mine has only ever flowered twice in 9-years ; seem to recall brownish spikes scented of vanilla ?
