My thoughts exactly F'edge. Morning Joyce. I did not put the dekkies back up in the loft last January as I realised I was struggling getting the tree etc. down and at 27 I decided enough was enough. The tree is now in stored in the space that used to be where my hot water tank was and the baubles etc. are all stored in plastic boxes that fit underneath my bed.

Are you putting your tree up today LB ? Perhaps I should put some of my decorations up .It could spur me on to get more enthusiastic about the festive season. This year seems to have passed so quickly ,I am still mentally in Autumn mode .

Morning Lants and Ruby. I am going to start my decorating today ( don't tell Hazel in case she thinks its that OTHER sort and gets withdrawal symptoms!) but the very first thing I'm going to do is write my cards so that they are all out of the way. I know what you mean about being in Autumn mode. Its wet and windy here so staying indoors is a nice thought. I'm glad Lily's TV did its job yesterday.

I haven't done anything yet - bought nothing - not even cards - just can't get in the mood and haven't a clue what to buy anyone for presents.  I'm just hoping it will all go away.
  • Good morning all,
Talking of beavers, I bought my son a 'Grow your own hairy beaver' as his joke present.

Morning. We don't go to Pickering until Thursday - but there are plenty of jobs to be getting on with - they'll be indoor ones today though as it's very wet and grey here.

Sorry you didn't get to the castle MU - probably right to stay away from germs & money spending opportunities though. We're thinking about going there on our way to or from Rosemarkie next summer. Is it worth the detour? Hope your OH got to and from his gig ok last night. Sounds like a new battery to add to your list for Santa.

I've done my cards😇 - but I won't send them for a few days yet - don't like receiving them until about the 10th onward. Similarly, we'll get the decorations down this afternoon so they're ready to put up after our little trip - they never get done before the 18th. At some stage today or tomorrow I'll wrap the Yorkshire presents so they're ready to take with us.

Think I've just fallen out with my sister-in-law because I'm posting their presents rather than taking them. Over a 100 mile round trip to do that & they're only really available at weekends. This year we're only really available during the week unless they come to us. For some reason it's 'too far' to come to us - but not 'too far' for us to go to them...🧐

Go figure - life's too short.

Have been out to top up with petrol since there's been a drop in the price. Gave the car a 30 mile run to prevent the battery getting flat.....please note Mr. M-U!
I hope you don't get lumbered with Beanz over the festive season while you neighbour swans off with her beau.
I do a token gesture of a few decs the week before C***s.

Ah Pansy - you do make me laugh😂

Thanks for the heads up about Crathes MU - that does look worth a visit. Best thing about being a member of the NT is you can roll up all at these different places & - if it doesn't appeal after 30 mins - you can just drive on to the next one without shelling out 20 squid a time.

We don't do big decorations but I like a pretty little twig tree with lights and small decos on and the mantle piece gets dressed with fairy lights and lots of fresh greenery, satsumas and berries. Looks very Scandinavian 'hygge' with the log burner going.

Want a mince pie and mulled cider now... (Haven't got any though🙁)
