Spring Bulbs- Is It Too Late?

As the title reads, is it too late to plant spring bulbs.

    No, but get them in asap before the ground gets frozen.

    And - if the ground's frozen, you can still put them in pots, and tuck them somewhere sheltered.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Thanks peeps, i have some Alliums and Anemones i didn't get chance to plant. i've got the spot but wasn't sure about planting them now.  I will plant them tomorrow.

    I hope it's not too late, I won a pack of 'Jetfire' in a raffle this afternoon. :)

  • Which! Gardening ran tests on this and found most things did ok, even if planted as late as December, though the flowering period might be delayed or a bit shorter. Things that flowered early were the most affected, but Alliums and Narcissi flowered even if planted in January!
    I haven't planted all mine yet, but I've got mostly tulips left :)

Early flowerers were the most affected but Alliums, Tulips, Narcissi and Grape |Hyacinths flowered ok even if planted in January - though it's not recommended!

    Maybe a useful tip to hasten germination with the Anemones ; soak the corms in water at room temperature for a few hours .
    They often plump up quite noticeably ! ;)

    Just planted my tulips and alliums today with some more scheduled for tomorrow. It's never too late.
