Raspberries - totally confused and utterly ignorant

    Keep the stem upright and tied in as Dove says.  They spread and produce new canes form their roots so look after those and you'll get more canes.   Do try and plant it out but perhaps in a raised bed because, once settled, they can run riot, as we found when I cleverly planted yellow raspberries in a bed next to a shrub and perennials border.  Easy enough to pull up though when they appear where you don't want them.
