    We were going to include removing it as part of the contract, my son is upset about having to leave it behind.

    Looks like we'll have to try and get an offcut or grow from a seed.

    If your son is upset about loosing that tree and if you think you can spend some money on moving it - why give up so quickly? Just google something like ''tree replaning uk'' - there are tons of companies that are specialising on transplanting and relocating trees. It's only a 10 year old crab apple, not a redwood that has been growing since before Jesus was born. But in any case good luck with any decision you make :)
