Swapping Salvia Amistad with Hydrangea Vanille Fraise

I've had both for several years but I want to move the Salvia to where the Hydrangea is and vice versa. The Salvia was still in full flower, but I've cut it back just now.
Should I do the swap now or wait until the spring?

    I'd do it now so they both have time to recover and get their roots going again, ready for the spring surge.

    Thanks Obelixx - I feared that may be the case.
    Part of me was hoping I could put if off until spring :)
    I've cut the salvia right back and will give it a good mulch when moved. I've just trimmed the hydrangea so I can get at it, so I'll do the swap tomorrow morning before the temperature takes a tumble next week.
