When my father had heard that explanation countless times, turned to them and said, "In Egypt, you and I are the foreigners!"
Did he manage to irk his compatriots?  Did they react?  After all, to some of us Brits this is "a truth universally acknowledged..." that even when in other people's countries, the denizens of those lands are the foreigners!

meh - cruise ships. Giant floating petri dishes. What you don't catch on the flight out, you'll get a go at on the boat.
Lazy holidays for the unimaginative and xenophobic :|  1 in 200 people in the UK are homeless and these people are kicking off because the government won't 'rescue' them from their luxury cruise ship.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Here's another one that annoyed me https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-51536924
Ok the situation isn't ideal but do they really expect to be given a nice new house for them and their 6 kids at short notice? There's hundreds of thousands of homeless people in the UK so it's not like an 8 bedroom house will just be sat empty waiting for them. Roll up your sleeves and do a bit of cleaning and decorating. There's 8 of you so it won't take long...

  • I do feel sorry for that couple ... they're not overcrowded because they've had a large family ... it looks as if they've helped Social Services out by taking on 'familial guardianship' of a relative's children ... this was being promoted as the way forward  when I worked for Children's Services ... it's better for the children (in most cases) to be with family members, and it certainly saves the Local Authority a huge amount of money ... we certainly bent over backwards to ensure housing needs were met if a family were taking on extra children ... it safeguards the children's emotional stability after what has always been a traumatic time for them.  Contrary to popular belief they do not get a huge financial reward for taking on these children ... at least they didn't when I was working in that field.

Oh I feel sorry for them and it's certainly not their fault to end up in that situation but their complaint is with the rental system not the local authority or housing associations that are having to find somewhere to put them. The councils will have plenty of people they'd rather kick out onto the streets to free up space put this couple up I'm sure but you can't expect miracles.

    Have a joyful giggle  :D

A MUM suffered an epic breastfeeding fail when her fake tan left her baby boy with an orange face.

Mum Keziah Jozefiak had been tanning before going out for a meal with her partner James Smith, 21, when her five-month-old son Raf woke up hungry.

As the baby boy is exclusively breastfed, his 20-year-old mum didn’t think twice before picking him up for a feed despite her Bondi Sands fake tan not having had time to dry naturally.

After Raf had finished, Keziah - who is training to become a mortgage advisor - was left laughing out loud as her son had a circle of fake tan covering his lips, the bottom of his nose down to his chin, just like the stubble that appears on Homer Simpson’s face in the cartoon.

Exact brand name of the product in a story like this is a big fake news red flag.

That is possible, of course, but when I was a young mum I made some ridiculous mistakes myself, though not of the fake tan variety!  :D
