This reminded me of the good old days when I had weekly Yoga, Pilates and Mindfulness classes.  Three evenings a week that I would meet all sorts of interesting, different people.

    And then the plague struck...

Whilst working in the kitchen, I always have the radio on, not just for the music but also to keep me "connected" and up to date with current facts.

This morning, a lady phoned in to request a song.  She said, "I'd like to dedicate it to my husband, as it's his and I's wedding anniversary today."

How up to date can you get?

I keep getting text messages from a company that wants to fit smart meters to my house and it reads "Engineers are filling up fast in your area".
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

She must be our latest grammarian.  How lucky is the English language!

This reminded me of the time my, then, eleven year old daughter and I were visiting a local secondary school on Open Day.  The Headteacher, when addressing the visiting parents, explained that the proffered form, "Can be handed either to my secretary or to myself."

My daughter said to me, "If the Headteacher doesn't know when the reflexive can be used, well there's no hope for the rest of this school."

    (!!)

I hasten to add, his subject was, apparently, science, so why should he ever need to bother with reflexives?

As for me, I had to look up the Reflexive...
