Music download

Does anyone know a decent, cheap music download site?
iTunes is stupidly expensive but I'm sure there must be others.
Maybe we'll have to check with our "yoof"?

I'll ask my two 'yoofs' Hosta - if they ever appear from their rooms.... :D

  • Morning, Hosta. I’m using Qobuz and eClassical (for classical music). I’m sure there are many other out there.

Can't help cos I'm old fashioned and like to have the album or CD.   I use i-tunes to organise my stuff on the PC but never to buy.

Spotify is fee with adverts but you can only listen to it offline unless you subscribe, costs I think £10 a month then you can download what you want and listen anywhere anytime. I use the free version all the time.

Don't know if of any use to you , but I've used this to download music from YouTube ,which I then burn onto CD .
    It's free as well !

I would use YouTube as well or join Amazon Prime for free music.

I might well be wrong, but you can't "keep" anything from spotify on an iPod. Can you?
I use spotify on my laptop, but can't drag it round the pool with me.  ;)

It's worth checking your library service - not for permanent downloads, but you can often 'borrow' music (and e-audiobooks, e-magazines, e-books, etc.) in order to try before you buy, or listen for the length of your holiday. The one I used work for offered all the above, plus access to Naxos, free to members. And obviously it was free to be a member!
