Stop panicking.  Paul B3 thinks the marks are due to sunlight.  Not aproblem mine ver had so I can't comment either way.   Get the pot size right along with the watering and the roots and whole plant will be happy.

  • Thanks Obelixx, I can rest easy now :)
  • Just an FYI, I popped back to the centre & transpires the black marks are in fact frost bite as they didn't bring the poor things in quick enough from outside. The whole selection of monsteras are exactly the same.

If it's frost-damaged you should be able to get your money back if that's what you want, but you might need to be a bit pushy.  Hope they're not still selling the damaged ones at full price!

  • No I've kept her as she is pretty beautiful, just needs some TLC plus there's loads of new leaves growing so won't be too bad when I eventually trim the bad ones down.

Yea they are! I know. I had a look at all of them as was thinking to swap but mine looked the best of the bunch.

:o Cheeky wotsits! At least you have the best one.  Just one other thing - if that's its permanent home in the third pic, make sure people (and pets) don't brush against it on their way through the doorways - that can cause damage to plant leaves (typically brown edges or patches developing later, not straight away)

  • Thanks Jenny. It's just me & my fella so should be okay. I'll move her once I get a little corner unit over the next few days so she can flourish & have as much space as she needs :)
