Planting rose - burying the graft union

  • All three of those look lovely.

Madame Julia Correvon is one I'd seen online and liked the look of.
etoile violette I've seen in the flesh at a garden centre as well and I liked it. However I think the purple is a little too strong for the roses I've gone for. Also my dad is passing on to me a clematis that he's growing from a cutting - a Jackmanii that had been in his Grandmas garden and has in fact moved all over the country. The colouring of the flowers is very similar to the Etoile Violette and I've only got a single wall space for a clematis unless they're to grow on the roses.

The other one I'm considering is 'Abundance' but Minuet looks lovely too.

No rush anyway, I'll just keep an eye out for them selling at a good price.

Thanks.... let us know which you choose eventually.... another I have is 'Rhapsody' which I'm liking very much, not so harsh as 'EV'.. and then there's 'Astra Nova'... which is new to me...  have fun....
