Not sure what these are?

New to household plant caring and I think I was totally unprepared for it but I do hope to learn. The plant is a cyclamen and Iam not sure what these little white things are. I never noticed them before. Are they apart of the soil or something else?

  • I can’t see very clearly but they may be flower buds ... it’s that time of year.

Could be any, or all, of the above!
Pic isn't clear enough for me, even if I zoom it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

They look like bits of perlite to me (just stuff mixed into the soil for drainage etc). Unless they're attached?

My reply is based on the top left blob which looks (to me ... from here ) to be attached.

Now I'm on my laptop and can zoom in a bit ... don't look much like flower buds now ...

Maybe Perlite mixed with the potting compost ? Supposedly to improve drainage .

Along with LG and Paul B3. Tale a little bit in your fingers and see if it crunches slightly when you compress it.
Hope that is the right stuff I am thinking of the same name (Perlite)
What is the other one called? The little more "square" stuff like mini layers of silvery grey.  Edited to add Vermiculite, it is not that one.

I'm going with the Perlite theory as well @thomaskirkham45 :)
