I like those and would be tempted as a fire pit except that I bought an enamelled log burner at a flea market so that will be my garden heater - if I ever need one.
Water features are for much further down the line......

It's just pleasant to sit and watch the flames. I certainly don't see the point of gas guzzling patio heaters. Very unattractive and not as good as socks and a jumper if you want tos it outdoors.

Obelixx, I think your point about the loose paving slabs is that the water in the bowl overflows and runs down the sides into a reservoir beneath the slabs, and then pumped back into the bowl. Laid dry like that, access can be gained to the reservoir and pump for maintenance. I don't recall watching it's installation on any GW programme and it may have been installed by one of his helpers (which I believe he has).
I can see why the slabs shouldn't be fixed if you need access to the reservoir below but I can't see why there should be a visible wobble when you walk on them. Maybe acceptable for an amateur but utterly unacceptable from someone hosting a natonal gardening programme on TV and showing us how, when and what.
The usual construction for a water feature with a reservoir below is to have a strong metal grid over the reservoir and under the bowl or fountain or whatever and then cover it with pebbles, stones, slabs as desired. We didn't see any of the construction but, as mentioned in an earlier post, he did call in an expert for advice.
Missed opportunity for the viewers to see how to go about it IMHO but it seems Monty rightly doubts his DIY skills and only ever shows us hazel obelisks tied with string and metal plant supports made by bending wire round posts which require no skill at all. He does have gardening helpers but never acknowledges them, unlike the presentation team on Beechgrove who do thank them and even show them on camera when they're doing a project.

I made a water feature many years ago on the same lines. I dug a big hole - approx 2ft 6 deep and about 2ft wide. Lined it with butyl. Put a pump in the bottom and filled with water. Laid some sturdy plastic piping over the top and covered it with cobbles. Then laid a big terracotta jug on its side with a hole i drilled in the bottom with a hose going from the pump to the jug and voila -

I reckon something like this could be used with some pretty basic DIY skills with a drill and pipe and acrylic sealant etc.
Google, outdoor fire bowls.
