Hello all, any idea what this is? About 6/7 ft tall, yellow flowers at the tips of each spire:

Looks like a helianthmum to me, not sure of the variety though.

    Helianthus, not Helianthemum
Maybe Helianthus tuberosus, small flowers, lots of leaves, maybe Jerusalem artichokes below

I can't see J.artichokes for the life of me (?) All I see are weeds below ; Buddleia on the right and what looks like sow-thistle in the middle ; maybe I'm mistaken .
    If so I'll shut up ! :)
  • I agree with Nutcutlet.
It's a bit of a thug so I would recommend pulling out some  of the roots annually after flowering. My daughter has it in her garden, very pretty, but it does need to be kept in it's place.

I see both those, what about the tall things with yellow flowers?

Nut means there may be J. artichokes 'below ground' as that's what the plants look like in flower

Does anyone think they're as vigorous as Hel.'Lemon Queen' ?
Bought one plant five-years ago , now I'm having to dig some out every year !
  • I agree with 'fartichokes'.  They need a good summer to flower in the UK in my experience and we've just had a rather good one. ;)

LOL @Paul B3  ... you dont grow veg so there's no reason why you'd recognise them  :)
